Divine Knights of Bastok

Hey gang this is Burnhard. I hope you are doing well. I am happy and honored that you chose to be a member of DKOB. This is primarily a place for friends, fun, and laughter. Some of the funniest times in my life have been times talking on the LS.

*For people who are new to FFXI as well, please dont leave this thread without bookmarking the websites i will list at the bottom.

The only standing requirement we have for this Linkshell is that members be affiliated with the Nation of Bastok. This is for simplicity, as we share the same Rank Missions, outposts, etc. WE DO NOT BEND ON THIS RULE. If someone really wants to be a member of this Linkshell, they can change their affiliation to Bastok. (Oh and once you are 18 get a subjob and keep the appropriate subjob(s) leveled, to do otherwise is embarrasing for you and our LS)

LS CHAT: The members we have now are the most laid-back, relaxed, positive, helpful people you could imagine. I realize we all have bad days, but be in a good mood on LS chat, positive and negative vibes are contagious so keep that in mind. Joking, laughing, playing, flirting (which won't get the guys very far with me unless you are Kataklysm you sexy individual, girls will get you everywhere ^^) are now and should continue to be the norm on the LS. Bringing others down, hurtful comments, constant negativity will not be tolerated. We can't see other people's faces or expressions when they type so assume that comments are meant in the best possible way, please and thank you.

HELP: If you haven't come to the realization, you soon will, that some things in this game simply cannot be done on your own. That is how the game is designed. If you need help, ask for it. However, just as no one can make you help them, others are not obligated to help you if they don't want to. Having said that, everyone in the LS is willing to help when they can. Just keep in mind that your quest may require multiple people to help and that means juggling multiple schedules, etc. To simplify it, if you are a good person, a loyal member, and help others when you can, people will be much more willing to help you accomplish your goals.

OTHER LINKSHELLS: There is no set policy on having more than one LS, however no one cares to hear if you have other "Social Linkshells" and how great they are. If you do have others, and only "pop-in" to DKOB to trick people into helping you with something, sorry but you will be removed. Personally, I have a ton of friends on Odin that I have made over the past couple of years, but they are on my Friend List and I check on them that way, and we ask each other for help from time to time. If you want me on your friend list, ask and I will add you, but don't disrespect the others but taking advantage of the LS. Thanks. And as far as I am concerned a loyal DKOB member in need takes precedence over the oldest and best of friends. Love ya, mean it!

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART:

Do yourself a favor and learn how to do your own research. The amount of fun you have increases as your knowledge of the game does. This doesnt mean that you can't ask questions, but others will get tired of looking things up for you when you can do it yourself. Here are the 4 websites that I have run across that help me DAILY. In fact, I have them Bookmarked in my browser and up on a laptop next to me as I play. For this reason most players prefer a 2 PC, XBOX360 & PC, or PS2 and PC setup.

http://www.ffxiah.com -- have you ever wondered what an item is selling for on the Jeuno/Whitegate auctionhouse, but been stuck out in the battlefield, or stuck in Bastok? Have you had an item to buy or sell, but weren't sure what category to look under? Here is your site. Make sure you select "Odin" on the dropdown box and type what you want in the search field.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Main_Page -- recognized as the most extensive compilation of information on FFXI the game. Type anything in the Search field from a zone, piece of equipment, quest, mission, monster, whatever and you will get a ton of info on it.

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/ -- another great site for general information. i personally like how they have equipment by job, mission/quest walkthroughs, etc. A lot of information will be the same here as ffxiclopedia, but the difference is here people can post comments on things so its possible to get the input from dozens of players on a subject, VERY HELPFUL

http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/ -- EVERY MAP FOR EVERY ZONE IN THE GAME what else could you want? oh maybe the locations for treasure chests, treasure coffers, and notorious monsters.... has that too! Even entrances to dungeons and other places that dont show up on the game maps! It even has maps for the new Wings of the Goddess areas A MUST HAVE

And the best part is all those sites are free! So no excuses.
